Sustained-release

Alfa's partner, Gattefossé, offers a range of excipients that can be used to develop sustained-release dosage forms.

A sustained-release dosage form can be created using lipidic excipients to form either a water insoluble matrix or a hydrophobic film around an active drug.

A range of formulation techniques are available including direct compression, solid dispersions, spray cooling and melt granulation that enable the development of a variety of sustained-release dose forms including tablets, capsules, granules and pellets.

For expert advice from our technical department on solving your formulation problems, or to request further information or samples of any of our excipients, please contact us or submit your query via the info request form.
